Joyful Change-Makers: PL’s Applied Learning Programme

Our school's ICT-integrated Curriculum, incorporates Computational Thinking. InC3 provides learning experiences for development of Skills, Knowledge, Attitudes and Values (SKAV) baseline ICT standards with New Media Literacies.

Phases:

Basic:

Curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artefacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others.

Intermediate:

Connect through clear communication and expression for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tolls, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.

Advanced:

Create new, useful or imaginative solutions in order to solve a problem.

Joyful Discovery	PAL Tinkering P1	• Foster curiosity by asking questions to analyse a problem. • Develop STICK mindsets by embracing challenges through brainstorming and creating solutions. • Establish computational thinking skill of pattern recognition through tinkering (changing things to see what happens).
	Inc3 P1	Touch typing: Proper hand positioning Accuracy and speed benchmarks for different year levels Integration of touch typing practice across subjects

Joyful Growth	MoveIT 1 P4	• Develop creative thinking and problem solving skills by applying the DT-ABC approach in the context of sustainable transport in Singapore. • Develop SMILE mindsets by collaborating in groups to learn about the future of mobility in the context of Singapore’s unique land transport situation. • Establish computational thinking skills of single thread programming and sensor inputs.
Joyful Growth	MoveIT 2 P5	• Develop creative thinking and problem solving skills by applying the DT-ABC approach in the context of sustainable transport in Singapore. • Develop SPARK mindsets by supporting peers to present at PL ALP-fest - the future of mobility in the context of Singapore’s unique land transport situation. • Establish computational thinking skills of Multi-thread programming and Loop-thread programming.
Joyful Service	Code for Fun P6	• Develop logical and problem solving skills by applying these skills in the context of solving problems in daily life. • Develop STICK mindsets by exploring new technologies in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cyber-security concepts. • Establish computational thinking skills of debugging, events, loops, variables, functions and conditionals.
